Jen Wead is a lifelong event professional whose career has been built in the places where events actually happen on the floor, behind the scenes, and usually somewhere in the middle of the chaos.
From historic venues to immersive events, her work has crossed planning, operations, design, hospitality, and the real-world logistics that make the beautiful parts possible.
After decades in the industry, her heart is increasingly with the people still doing the work beside her. The Event Edit is where she shares the insight, tools, lessons, and occasional hard-earned opinion that can make the job a little clearer, a bit easier, and a lot less lonely while still helping couples understand what really goes into creating a great event.
The Seasoned Pro started as a little social media series called Advice from a Seasoned Pro which was equal parts useful tips, industry observation, and the occasional (often) smart-ass comment earned from years of doing this work in real life.
The name stuck because, well I am seasoned. Very seasoned. But the heart of it remains share what I have learned with the people still doing the work beside me. I speak from the mistakes and the lessons, things I have polished through trial and error. This is not coming from a pedestal, but from the floor, the loading dock, the storage room, the venue office, the back of house kitchen and over recap drinks after hours at The Press Box.
That is the voice you will find throughout The Event Edit practical, candid, occasionally unfiltered, ever evolving with the industry and always rooted in experience.
